Towards a spatial theory of organizations. Principles and practices of modern organizational design

On Wednesday 25 May 2016 the pubic defense of my dissertation entitled “Towards a spatial theory of organizations. Principles and practices of modern organizational design” occurred at the ‘Koetshuis’ of the Nyenrode Business University (Breukelen, The Netherlands).

My personal journey

Since this thesis has been in the works for almost thirteen years, many people and organizations have played a key role in my personal journey into organizational space. I would like to thank all those people who have shaped and ‘tweaked’ my perceptions, thinking, feeling, sensing, and curiosity during my personal and professional development. Most of them are listed in the preface/acknowledgements part of this dissertation. The journey into organizational space has just begun. One will never be completely prepared for travelling through organizational space. Anything can happen during the quest for— possibly new—spatial arrangements. While traveling, keep an open mind and be deliberately receptive, trusting that “the dots will somehow connect in the future.
